Lingerie Trends

John Galliano's Underwear line for Fall/Winter 2011/2012. The lookbook is based on the ballet theme which has become incredibly popular after Black Swan film was released. The garments feature beautiful lace, sheer fabrics, flower prints and frills. There are simple but comfy combinations that still have alot of sex appeal. The styling includes choker necklaces, bangles, headpieces, point ballet shoes and leg warmers.
Totally sheer slips.

Flower print set and frills.

Late night creativity - trialing shawl top

I had an urge to try out a shawl top idea that is inspired by the previous butterfly top in my own wardrobe and a little bit by kimonos. Im very happy with the results and imagine this garment being made of a slightly warmer and heavier fabric to be an outer layer of an outfit or in contrast it could be made from the lightest silks to help with the visual layering and seethrough effects of an outfit. This garment would also look great with a trim.

I love how simple the pattern is for this piece and the cleaness that creates in the end look.

Insperation and learning from my own garments

All of these garments are interesting and I think I could apply something from all of these to my intimate/sleepwear/lounge concept. It was really good investigating how  these garments are constructed and I think I could apply the gained knowledge to my own garment construction.
